Pirelli GT3 Cup Pike Peak International Hill Climb

Our 2016 Racing Program:

For 2016, the A.S. Long Racing Team has chosen to focus on five key events to showcase its strengths. Four of those events will be in run in concert with Pirelli GT3 Cup races. To maximize its racing potential and its local visibility, the team will also compete in the stand-alone Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the second oldest motorsport event in the country, celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2016.


Mazda Raceway Laguna SecaMay 13-15, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca: One of the premier racing venues in the world, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is situated in the rolling hills above Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. It's locale is complemented by its famous series of twists and turns, including the legendary Cork Screw, scene of many of racing's most famous moves. This event is a prime choice for any kind of on-car promotions because of the high visibility it offers in one of the world's most affluent neighborhoods. Driver for this event will be David Donohue.

UPDATE! Two races and a 1st and 2nd place. A great way to start the season!


Pikes Peak International Hill ClimbJune 26, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb: Our home event, Pikes Peak is the second oldest motorsports event in North America, in 2016 the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is also one of the worlds most famous races, bringing entries and fans from all over the world. This year the race is celebrating its 100th Anniversary with a wide range of events. While race-day is on the 26th, it's really a month long event with testing, training, and several social and promotional events. It's one of the best "bangs for the buck " for on-car promotional opportunities and for on-site events. Fred Veitch will drive the GT4, looking for another class victory.

Update: The weather held for the entire month of testing and practice sessions and for most of race day. The A.S. Long Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport handled the mountain extremely well in the hand of Fred Veitch, despite being severely down on power compared to many of the other cars in the Time Attack 1 Class. Veitch summited in a very respectable ninth place in class. Meanwhile, A.S. Long Racing team driver David Donner took his own Porsche Carrera GT3R to an excellent first place in TA1.




Utah Motorsports CampusAugust 12-14, Utah Motorsports Campus: Formerly Miller Motorsports Park, this Utah track is the longest road-course in the United States and has facilities on par with the world's finest motorsports facilities. Situated less than an hour from the Salt Lake City International Airport and only slightly longer from Utah's Olympic-class mountain resorts, it is also one of the most convenient for travel and vacation opportunities. David Donner will drive, looking for yet another victory on this great course.

Update: The A.S. Long Racing team made its return to the Pirelli Cup series in Mid-August at Utah Motorsports Campus David Donner driving. Despite some stiff competition, searing heat in the 100+ range during race-days, Donner drove with a cool head throughout the weekend, earning a couple of hard-fought fourth places for the team.



Sonoma RacewaySeptember 9-11, Sonoma Raceway: Located at the north end of San Francisco Bay and the mouth of the Napa River, Sonoma Raceway is one of the premier racing tracks in the United States and is legendary for fast action and passing, providing some of the most dramatic finishes in modern racing history. It's less than an hour from San Francisco and Napa Valley, making it one of the premiere opportunities for on-car and on site promotional opportunities.

Update: David Donohue will be back with A.S. Long Racing for the final two rounds of hte series. We look forward to some great racing!



Circuit of the AmericasSeptember 23-25, Circuit of the Americas (COTA): This is the circuit that sets the standard. Built specifically to host the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Located on the outskirts of one of America's most cultural diverse and dynamic cities, Austin, Texas. Aside from its own competitive action, the 2016 round of the Pirelli Challenge is a preliminary event for the FIA World Endurance Championship, meaning there will be a distinctly international flavor at the event. David Donohue will drive for A.S. Long's final event of the season.
